Polo Tuition

County Polo

Francis is a fully qualified HPA Instructor. He is therefore fully familiar with the latest approaches to polo instruction - for beginners and those wishing to improve their game.

Francis has ponies in work to suit all - comers from the non-rider to the more experienced player.

Rates vary depending on duration and group size. Please contact Francis for further details.

Malcolm Borwick, of the England squad (pictured right) is one of many seasoned players occasionally invited to teach master classes for clients. (Rates to be advised).

Lessons are structured to suit the individual, but there is some common core content for all wishing to improve;

Francis is very keen to further the techniques used by Claire Tomlinson (England/Senior HPA Coach).

The better the riding, the more effective the player!

County Polo.

Ideal for those who have had some time to learn their technique with stick and ball. The Umpiring is interactional, and warnings are given before a whistle blows. If the players get badly out of place, the whistle blows, and players are repositioned. It is an ideal way to learn the game without the stress of being over shaddowed by the more experienced players.

Players need an HPA subscription, and the cost per chukka is 25 pounds (rental pony), or 5 pounds on your own mount. There is also a  club subscription fee. Instructional members are registered with the HPA with an 'S' handicap.
